OSPU received guests from the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai. Students and associate professor of the Department of "Country Studies and Tourism" Uvaliev Talgat Oshanovich KazNPU named after Abai visited a tour of the laboratories of the OSPU technopark. Of particular interest was the master class, in which geography students studied mineral classifications and got acquainted with the collection of minerals, rocks and remains of ancient animals in the geological office of OSPU. Our professors shared their experience in the field of teaching geography, so Olga Anatolievna Komarova, associate professor of the Department of Geography and Methods of Teaching Geography, gave a lecture on modern trends in geography and methods of teaching geography.
Students of Abay KazNPU arrived in Omsk as part of their geography training practice aimed at familiarising themselves with the city's economic and social facilities. After visiting OSPU, the group went on a tour of the city's historical sites. Special attention was paid to such an important geographical object of Omsk - the mouth of the Om river.
Abay Kazakh National Pedagogical University is the first higher education institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a 96-year history. Our university has been co-operating with the Kazakh Pedagogical University since 2020.
During the period of cooperation, the two universities became participants of the II Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Kazakhstan and Russia ‘Actual Trends in Higher Education and Science’ on the basis of Abay KazNPU. During the forum, a panel discussion was held on the topic ‘Teacher Training: Experience and Prospects’. Its organisers and moderators were Natalia Makarova, Rector of Omsk State Pedagogical University, and Banu Mukataevna Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Activities of Abai KazNPU. Together the universities held the International scientific and methodological seminar ‘Vectors of pedagogical research development: the mission of a pedagogical university’, in which the OSPU delegation took part.
