Students of our university have an interesting, bright and rich student life, which contributes to growth, self-realization in social activities, creativity and sports and increases the level of personal competencies.
The university develops student initiatives and supports the exchange of experience in the field of youth policy. The university has created more than 50 student associations: vocal studios, choreographic clubs, an academic choir, a "KVN" (Club of the cheerful and sharp-witted) team, creative teams, a youth club of the Russian Geographical Society "Mechta" ("Dream") a student press center and volunteer teams of the OSPU.
In 2021, omsk state pedagogical university opened the technopark of universal pedagogical competences under the programme "teacher of the future generation of russia". The new educational environment at the university is the basis for training modern teachers. Our university has made modern renovations and equipped special laboratories where future teachers study.
In 2021, archaeological research reached a new level. The university resumed full-scale excavation works. Scientists and students of OSPU conduct unique research work on the burial mounds of the Omsk region.
Traditionally, OSPU is famous for its strong mentoring system, which reflects the individual characteristics of the faculties. Based on the specificity of the faculty, first-year students have an opportunity to get acquainted with the traditions of the university and characteristic features of student life thanks to the special care of mentors and tutors.
Every year OSPU students take part in sports events of different levels - inter-faculty, inter-university, regional. These are volleyball tournaments, city sports and fitness events and recreational activities and others. "Student Spartakiade" among the faculties of Omsk State Pedagogical University with participation of women's and men's teams is held in various sports.
OSPU actively promotes the development of student media. Our university has two university-wide press centres. There are also press centres at almost every faculty, which cover events and prepare photo and video reports.
On 10 March 2017, Omsk State Pedagogical University established the Volunteer Centre to consolidate and strengthen volunteer associations of the university. Volunteer groups operating at the faculties are diverse: they travel to animal shelters, arrange theatrical performances for children from orphanages, organise concerts at the Gerontology Centre, hold events to protect and preserve the environment for future generations, popularise the image of a teacher through volunteer activities.
Our university also has coworking areas where students can prepare for classes or events alone or with classmates. In addition, there are canteens and automatic cafes.
