Mobility and Exchange Studies

International academic mobility or exchange study means semester study in a foreign educational institution, language or scientific internship, participation in summer school and other programmes. In this case, the participant of the programme does not lose the status of a student at the Home university. Students get an Individual academic plan. The purpose of developing academic mobility programmes is to improve the quality of education, to improve mutual understanding between different peoples and cultures, to educate a new generation prepared to live and work in the international information community.

OSPU accepts 2nd-4th year Bachelor's and 1st year Master's students from foreign universities for semester study under a similar programme. During one semester an exchange student attends classes in Omsk State Pedagogical University, participates in creative and scientific activities of the university, takes credits and exams. At the same time, the student is enrolled in the study group at the Home university, and upon return he/she passes the difference in accordance with the Individual academic plan.

After consideration of the application OSPU sends the letter of invitation, the curriculum of OSPU, for the selection of disciplines coinciding with the programme of the Home university, and documents to sign.

The study period includes lectures, seminars, laboratory and practical classes, academic and industrial practice and examination session. The schedule of the educational process is different for each faculty and course. In case of necessity, in agreement with the management of the faculty, it is possible to draw up an individual study plan to postpone the examination session.

Education for the Exchange student is free of charge. Students are provided with places in the Students dormitory, the cost of accommodation is 1000 rubles per month. To check into the dormitory a student provides fluorography, vaccination certificate and results of blood test for microreaction.

In order to study on a full-time basis, citizens of visa countries need an ordinary study visa.

In case of a positive decision to enrol a foreign citizen, the university sends the documents to the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for approval and issuance of an invitation for a visa citizen.

The university issues an electronic invitation. The whole procedure takes from 30 to 60 working days.
